Job completed for Klofstad House

Completion date: April 14, 2026

Location: Missoula, MT

Why did the customer contact us?

The homeowner, Glenn, contacted our emergency team after discovering an active leak originating from his utility closet. The water had escaped the enclosure and was spreading rapidly into the adjacent hallway, leaving visible standing water on the carpeted floor. Recognising the high risk of secondary structural damage and the rapid development of microbial contamination within saturated carpet fibres and underfelt (pad), Glenn requested an immediate after-hours emergency dispatch. Our team responded swiftly to isolate the source, prevent further horizontal moisture tracking, and stabilise the indoor environment.

Solutions provided:

Our team executed an efficient, non-destructive water extraction and carpet preservation protocol- Emergency Site Assessment: Conducted an immediate on-site safety and moisture survey of the utility enclosure, tracing the Class 3 clean-water loss (Category 1) directly to a failing Bradford White water heater tank. Surface Water Extraction: Deployed professional extraction equipment to aggressively draw out standing water from both the surface carpet pile and the underlying foam carpet pad to maximize the likelihood of salvaging the materials. Antimicrobial Sanitisation: Applied a commercial-grade antimicrobial agent across the wet carpet grid and the concrete utility floor to neutralise organic pathogens and proactively halt mould growth. Targeted Environmental Stabilization: Set up a high-capacity Low Grain Refrigerant (LGR) dehumidifier directly adjacent to the utility closet to rapidly lower ambient humidity and accelerate structural evaporation.
