A fire station experienced a significant water leak in their Fire Bay, with water dripping from saturated ceiling insulation after snow and rain. The initial assessment classified it as a Category 3 loss due to an unknown source and water discoloration. The source of the intrusion was later identified as a roof screw with a missing rubber gasket.
Solutions provided:
Dayspring Restoration responded promptly, conducting an initial loss assessment and classifying the water damage as Category 3. They deployed drying equipment, including fans and a dehumidifier, and managed communications with Captain Collin Riley regarding the project status, mitigation, and repair plans. Asbestos testing was performed, and once approved, the saturated ceiling insulation was removed. The team cleaned the affected floor, removed all debris, and disposed of waste appropriately. They also handled content manipulation by moving vehicles and a lawnmower for access and completed comprehensive documentation including service agreements, CAR, and MACROS reports.
