The homeowner contacted Dayspring Restoration due to substantial moisture accumulation, ongoing water intrusion, and standing water within the crawlspace and interior living areas. Saturated duct insulation, overflowing dehumidifier collection reservoirs, and moisture trapped beneath overlapping crawlspace vapor barriers threatened structural subflooring and indoor flooring assemblies.
To halt structural deterioration and restore dry conditions, we deployed a multi-phase water damage mitigation and drying strategy across the crawlspace and interior living spaces. In the crawlspace, our crew emptied full collection basins, relocated drying equipment to pooled areas, and removed compromised vapor barrier sections to eliminate moisture traps. We extracted standing water with truck-mounted equipment and cut targeted access points in wet duct insulation to drain and vacuum trapped moisture, subsequently adding two high-capacity dehumidifiers to dry the subfloor framing. Inside the home, our team carefully manipulated and protected bedroom and closet contents with poly sheeting before tearing out approximately 44 square feet of water-damaged luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring. We conducted detailed HEPA vacuuming over the exposed subfloor, positioned air filtration devices (AFDs) to maintain indoor air quality, and ran targeted dehumidification until the subflooring successfully met dry standards.
