A Category 3, Class 3 water loss occurred in the crawl space due to a broken sewer line. The affected area had contaminated top layer of soil and a damaged vapor barrier around the water heater.

Solutions provided:

The restoration team responded to the water loss, removing the affected vapor barrier and excavating the impacted soil to address the contaminated materials. Drying equipment, including a dehumidifier and air filtration device, was installed to support drying and improve conditions. After removing the contaminated soil around the water heater, a new section of vapor barrier was installed. Upon completion of the crawl space work, the drying equipment was removed. All contaminated debris was bagged and hauled away in a company van, with appropriate PPE used throughout the job.
