The customer reached out after experiencing a Category 1, Class 2 water damage incident caused by a leaking waterline that had been cut off at floor level, discharging water across the flooring in their game room and bedroom area.
Our team conducted a comprehensive moisture evaluation, including moisture mapping, hammer-probing bottom plates, taking atmospheric readings, and documenting the site using DocuSketch. We removed the affected vinyl plank flooring to expose the waterline, treated the exposed subfloor and surfaces with an antimicrobial solution, and safely hauled away a truckload of demolition debris. To thoroughly dry out the affected walls and framing, we installed commercial drying equipment—placing one LGR dehumidifier and three air movers in the game room, plus an additional air mover in the bedroom. Finally, we advised the homeowner on asbestos testing precautions due to the age of the home and recommended professional plumbing capping for the open line.
