Water damage in the bathroom and surrounding areas originating from a cracked main sewer line, affecting lath, plaster, and drywall, with moisture impacting subfloor and seal plate.
The restoration team removed damaged lath and plaster behind the shower to access the cracked main sewer line area. An approximately 16-inch square section of affected bathroom drywall was removed, and all affected areas were thoroughly cleaned and prepared. Extensive moisture monitoring was conducted across the upstairs containment, downstairs living room, and bathroom containments, including the seal plate and subfloor. Tile was monitored during drying, and the elevated area near the toilet flange was observed for improvement. A dehumidifier was strategically positioned to target the affected area, leading to successful drying and stabilization of all materials, completing the water damage mitigation.
