A water heater leak caused significant moisture damage and microbial growth across multiple areas of the residence.

To mitigate the extensive water damage and microbial growth, Dayspring Restoration recommended and implemented a comprehensive plan. This involved removing the affected layers of flooring, while the structurally sound bottom plank subfloor was cleaned of any microbial growth and retained. For mold mitigation, affected areas were contained, and negative air pressure was maintained using an Air Filtration Device to prevent cross-contamination. All framing members with visible microbial growth were HEPA vacuumed according to IICRC S520 standards. Abrasive cleaning, including sanding and/or wire brushing, was performed on any visible microbial growth, followed by a final HEPA vacuuming. The crawlspace framing was then wiped down with an antimicrobial disinfectant to ensure thorough remediation.
