The customer experienced a severe water intrusion event in their furnished basement, which saturated the perimeter wall materials. The prolonged moisture exposure compromised the structural integrity of the drywall or paneling along the foundation, creating a high-risk environment for hazardous mold growth and wood rot.

We executed a comprehensive structural mitigation and containment protocol. First, we secured the living space by moving and protecting the customer's sectional sofa and personal items with drop cloths. We then performed a targeted tear-out of the damaged wall materials, exposing the wooden framing and brick foundation to facilitate deep structural drying. To ensure occupant safety and maximize drying efficiency, we erected a heavy-duty plastic containment barrier with a zippered access point. This sealed off the wet zone, allowing us to run commercial dehumidifiers and air scrubbers without cross-contaminating the rest of the home.
