The homeowner contacted our emergency response unit following a major water intrusion event that completely inundated their lower level. Our multi-tech response team (Paulo, Jay, and lead technicians) arrived on-site at 7:20 am to assess the situation and alleviate the client's concerns. Upon conducting an initial walk-through and moisture assessment, we determined that approximately 75% of the large, finished basement had been heavily compromised. The water migration had affected multiple finished living zones, including a basement bedroom, bathroom, central living room, and the connecting hallways. Immediate action was required to extract standing water, prevent secondary microbial growth, and salvage the flooring sub-structures wherever possible.
We executed an efficient, large-scale water extraction and flooring mitigation protocol- Comprehensive Moisture Mapping: Utilised advanced Protimeter digital moisture meters synced with mobile tracking software to map out wet boundaries across the drywall, concrete slab, and structural framing. Emergency Water Extraction: Deployed professional weighted extraction wands and floor squeegees directly onto the concrete subfloor to aggressively pull standing water out of the basement living room and bedroom zones. Carpet & Underlay (Pad) Mitigation: Carefully detached and peeled back the saturated carpeting across the affected rooms. This allowed us to inspect the underlying slab and determine the salvageability of the underlayment. Sub-Surface Environmental Control: Positioned commercial-grade drying equipment grid systems to address both the exposed concrete slab and the open floor-to-wall plates to ensure a certified dry-standard baseline.
