The customer required emergency mitigation services following a Category 3, Class 2 water damage originating from a toilet in their basement. The backup resulted in highly contaminated material on the bathroom floor and storage room surfaces, necessitating professional extraction, structural demolition of saturated materials, and specialized content manipulation of items stored in the affected basement areas.
Our team executed a comprehensive remediation and controlled demolition plan: Containment & Air Quality: Established physical containment zones and deployed HEPA air scrubbers with charcoal filters to manage airborne contaminants and neutralize strong odors within the living spaces.Controlled Demolition: Performed flood cuts on all affected bathroom walls and removed contaminated vinyl flooring. We also removed sections of plywood under the bathtub and a portion of the raised landing to inspect for subfloor moisture.Bio-Wash Preparation: Cleared affected concrete surfaces by relocating basement contents—including numerous boxes of personal items—to a protected area in the garage to allow for a thorough bio-wash and sanitization.Structural Evaluation: Identified that the bathroom vanity was non-restorable due to saturation and required full replacement.Environmental Control: Set up a specialized drying matrix consisting of two dehumidifiers and two air scrubbers to stabilize humidity levels and ensure structural drying of the remaining framing.
