The customer required emergency assistance due to a Category 3, Class 1 sewer backup in their basement. The loss occurred when city maintenance work outside the home caused a backup through the basement floor drains. The intrusion resulted in the loss of use of the basement area and caused mechanical failures in several appliances, including the HVAC system, water heater, and washing machine, which is currently displaying a drain-related error code.

Our team initiated a multi-phase restoration and mitigation plan: Initial Mitigation & Extraction: Performed immediate water extraction and set up containment zones and professional drying equipment to stabilize the environment.Content Management: Technicians performed a detailed inventory of basement contents, identifying non-restorable items that cannot be safely cleaned and relocating salvageable items to the garage.Decontamination Prep: Prepared the affected areas for a comprehensive bio-wash once all contents are cleared to ensure the space is sanitized from Category 3 contaminants.Specialised Diagnostics: Coordinated with appliance and HVAC subcontractors to inspect the damaged furnace, water heater, and washing machine for mechanical repair or replacement.
