The customer experienced a dishwasher supply line leak in the kitchen, causing significant water damage. This resulted in swelled laminate flooring, baseboards, and trim, as well as high moisture readings (99%) in the subfloor on both the main level and in the crawlspace. There was also concern about water traveling behind the kitchen cabinet boxes, leading to expansion of the particle board layer of the subfloor.

Dayspring Restoration responded by performing an initial loss assessment and documenting all affected areas. The team removed the damaged kitchen laminate flooring, foam underlayment, sheet vinyl, and particle board subfloor. Drying equipment, including two dehumidifiers (one in the kitchen, one in the crawlspace) and fans, was strategically placed. Containment was set up for dust and drying purposes. After receiving insurance approval, the lower kitchen cabinets were detached, and the oven, fridge, and dishwasher were moved to access the underlying particle board. Negative air pressure was established with an air scrubber, and the work area was thoroughly cleaned. Daily moisture readings and monitoring were conducted until the materials were dry, at which point the drying equipment was removed. A final mitigation report and invoice were submitted to the insurance company.
